Character: Whitney Cassidy

Our troubled heroine. Once the ocean loving devil-may-care field researcher. Her passion for the ocean led her to volunteer to help remove abandoned fishing nets with the team on the Triton. Whitney now finds herself crippled by panic attacks if she looks at large bodies of water for to long.

Trying to reclaim the life she once had, Whitney has gone to therapy- Wait, no, she drowns herself in cheez-its and wine, unable to cope with the monster she saw destroy the ship and the survivors guilt. After all, sea monsters don’t exist and neither to Mermaids- Right?

In leu of therapy, she leans heavily on her two best friends for support Darcy Williams and Imani Dubois-Ahuja.
